'I was designing garbage': Mary Ann's reusable wrapping paper is cutting waste at Christmas
Mary Ann Dujardin points out that each Christmas, the UK alone throws away 226,800 miles of wrapping paper – enough to stretch nine times around the Earth.
She is originally from Seattle and grew up surrounded by the evergreen trees of the Pacific Northwest. But she decided her job creating packaging and gift wrap for major brands was at odds with her love of nature.

A next step on our eco journey where consumers will be taking more responsibility for our impact on the environment and the use of natural resources. Smarter Thinking in our purchases looking for more recycled and sustainable products will be a factor for the stationery market.
We loved visiting the Paper Mirchi stand where artisan design and handmade wrap combined with sustainable paper crosses both this trend and Imperfect Beauty. We also loved Regiftwrap where unbelievably over 50% of our normal giftwrap cannot be recycled due to either a glitter or foil finish. The regift wrap products can be used again and again and is recyclable, however we loved the way it has a barcode on it so you can scan and track where your paper has been passed on along its life journey.
